Paragon Version 14 Ending SPOILERS

I know that there are slightly different endings for whoever you choose to do the thing near the end and also choosing to surrender but I thought there would be some implication to do a renegade route now or something. I thought I read that you do a paragon route, then a renegade route, and then go NG+ in your paragon route to do the true ending route. Is that info false or can someone explain more?
