Medical
Hi everybody, just wanted to see if anyone else has had any similar issues. I am a 30 year old female and about four months ago I woke up from a dead sleep with severe upper back pain that radiated to my chest so I went to the ER and they ran blood work ( CBC w/ diff, CK, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, Troponin I and a D-Dimer), and did an EKG everything came back normal. While I was in the ER, I started developing left-sided facial numbness. The doctor didn’t seem concerned about it, and the nurse told me I was hooked up to a heart monitor, and that if I was having an issue, they would know. The doctor then told me he thought it was my gallbladder and to follow up with my primary care. I went to my primary a few days later she did bloodwork (Lipase, Hemoglobin A1C, Thyroid and Free T4, CMP and a Lipid panel) and again everything came back normal. She didn’t seem to think it was my gallbladder, but gave me a script to get an abdominal ultrasound, which came back normal. Two days later, I was still having intermittent numbness and tingling in the left side of my face but then my arm around my elbow started to go numb so I reached out to my primary and she suggested I go to the ER immediately to get checked. So I went to the hospital and they called stroke alert did a head CT and brain MRI, both of which came back normal. They ran more labs (Magnesium, CBC w/ Auto diff, Prothrombin time with INR, Activated partial thromboplastin time, Basic metabolic panel, CBC w/ differential, hemoglobin A1C, Folate, Lipid panel with direct LDL, Thyroid stimulating hormone, Vitamin B12, and a Lymes test) everything came back normal with the exception of my potassium and sodium being a little low and 2 reactive bands on my Lymes test. They did give me potassium supplements while I was there. I had my potassium by my primary two days later and it was normal. They emergency room doctor told me to follow up with a neurologist. I saw a neurologist a month later and he told me he thought it was coming from my neck so I went and had a cervical spine MRI but that came back completely normal. The neurologist told me to do PT so I’ve been doing that and nothing seems to help. I’ve also been experiencing weird symptoms since then now I get like a burning feeling in my breastbone area. The numbness in my face is pretty much gone, but sometimes I do get a feeling of almost like when you have sunburn and your skin feels tight. I just feel like I’m going crazy and making things up at this point. No one has any answers for me. My doctor keeps telling me I am a mystery patient 🙃. Not really sure what else to do.
