Any lift master experts here?

Hello, trying to repair a failed lock on my liftmaster 8500 jackshaft. It’s connected to a 841LM lock, which many sites say is a fire hazard due to it being 12v and the opener being 24v? It’s been working for 10 years, so I’m super confused as to what lock should be installed and I stumbled on this info when trying to order a replacement. It looks like I really need a 41A6102 according to product manuals, which should be 24v also correct? I definitely have an 8500, not 8500w. If this is a fire hazard, how can the two be plugged into each other? Any help much appreciated!
