bad non-gen AI?

Due to the current situation, genAI is under the public opinion as being bad, reasonably.

But I've wondered: is there any bad AI that is NOT generative?

For instance, I thought of social media algorithms... You dont get to choose what you see there anymore, and it begins to mold more of your personality rather than the other way around
