My little sister (10yo) is using AI to do all her school work and I don't know how to make her stop.
So, as the title says, my little sis uses AI for all her school homework. She uses both Meta AI in whatsapp and the AI built into google. From the research I did, there's no way to disable the AI assistants in the app and I can't disable the apps themselves because they're essential outside of school work. It's gotten bad enough that she literally just takes a picture of whatever page she got for homework in her book, sends it to the AI and copies the answers word for word. I've tried talking to her about her AI use and discouraging it but I know she's gonna continue to do it anyways. She's a kid after all and she's gonna make use of the freely available tool that makes her homework way easier and faster.
Now, I don't know what to do about it or if I even can do anything about it. Neither of our parents live close enough to supervise her (Closest is 3 hours away), her guardian (Our grandmother) doesn't understand enough to help her (She never went to school) and I'm always either in school, at work, or sleeping so I usually don't have the time or/nor the energy to help her through it.
I really want her to develop basic skills like looking through a website for a specific answer and critical thinking but I don't know how to do that when AI is just serving her answers on a silver platter. I've already tried telling her to make AI tell her How to do it and not What to do, but she went back to copying answers after 3 days. What can I do about this?
NB. - Her performance in school is fine. Her classwork and exam grades are good, both being in the A-B minus bracket, though her homework grades are suspiciously perfect. They don't allow elecronic device at all, and its a 6 month confescation if they're caught with one so I'm not worried about AI use in school.
