Any general tips to enjoy reading more
I was diagnosed with dyslexia probable about 5-10 years ago, ik thats a bit of a range but its difficult to remember. Anyway I never really disliked reading stories and books I enjoy but I do dislike the "reading" part of it. I tried audiobooks but even things like autible are so expensive and I never like the readers, they always just sound so robotic and its hard to listen to. I have never once finished a book no matter how much I am enjoying the story because it can take me upwards of 5-6 minutes for one single page (on better days 3 minutes a page is my fastest) and it strains my eyes so much my head hurts. Some books are better or worse, i started Percy jackson and can say that its been one of the better ones and I appreciate being able to relate a little to the kid, but i want to finish this one and i want to keep going. i notice underlining what im ready with the bookmark helps quite a bit but it gets difficult to hold comfortable, do anyone now of a way to maybe make that easier to hold? or something a can buy for the same effect that will be easier to use? Any other tips would also be nice, or maybe a different audiobook platform with people that dont sound like robots. thank you and if it helps for any reason i am an adult, not a kid still learning to read or something
