Its me again, the lady that pulled the BM from my local pound. The lady with 2 cats and 2 small kids. 🤣

TL DR: Pulled from pound 3 weeks ago, no people pleasing drive, no treat or toy drive, looking for ideas and resources.

She is settling in really well. Shes AMAZING with the kids, wants to play with my younger cat and he dishes out what she gives. She will play too rough, he kicks her ass, she backs off and gives major space before going back for more. She takes corrections and redirection in stride. She went to doggie daycare yesterday and did great! I had to have emergency surgery and daycare was our only option in order to ensure she wasn't in a kennel all day. She is of course completely unaware of her size and runs everything over. It was totally expected and I have no issues with it. I correct, redirect and am working on physical boundries with her. Shes really picking up the concept. I am however struggling to figure out what gives her drive to work for me. It seems like she is kind of a dud? Like not mouthy at all, doesnt snap her mouth, super super soft mouth with us and the kids, and just has no interest in people pleasing. She has absolutely no ground work on her. When you say no, she looks at you like your insane. She doesnt acknowledge that someone is talking to her. She has learned sit but will only do it if she deems the reward worthy enough. She really isnt treat motivated. Ive tried toys and balls, if you try to make her work for it she bails and walks away. I have no idea how to handle this. Can anyone drop some ideas that have worked for you, videos, books or resources? Maybe she just needs more time to settle in? Am I jumping in too early? Shes been here for coming on 3 weeks now. Ive got her responding to her name, no, and walking on the leash. She doesnt heel yet, expected, but understands dont walk in front of me. She walks in a gentle leader, she wouldnt respond to a choke chain or prong collar. Ive had great success with the gentle leader and she responds to corrections with it. Thank you to anyone who drops some ideas. I really appreciate it.
