Why a small product can make a bigger offer easier to buy
Freedman and Fraser tested the small request idea in the 1960s. When people agreed to a smaller request first, they became more likely to agree to a bigger request later.
I do not treat that as a sales trick. I see it as a buyer journey lesson.
A follower who buys a 29 dollar tracker has already crossed a different line than a follower who only likes posts. They trusted the creator enough to buy. They used the creator method. They saw the problem more clearly.
Then the bigger offer feels less abstract. The small product should solve a real first problem, and it should make the next problem easier to see.
Have you ever bought a small product before buying coaching, a course, or a service?
