PC boots into black screen after regular shutdown. But boots Normally if regular shutdown + manually turn off the power switch at the back.
This started happening after move to a new home and did some light dusting. at first there was also a red debug light on CPU on the motherboard. but then I reinsert ram, and plug and unplug the 24 pin mobo power cable and that seems to have solved that.
Next the pc boots into a black screen. It's not like the screen is unpowered, but like the the light is black? I thought maybe I wonked the gpu placement so I removed that and put it back in. problem still here. there's a red debug light on the beside VGA.
I thought maybe I need to switch to a vga port instead of a hdmi one but I don't have one of those cables. and the weird part is the pc works fine if I turn it on after unplugging the power, or turning off the power button at the back. But if I shut it down normally and then try turning it on again without cutting the power first, it boots into black screen.
im using msi b450 tomahwk ll motherboard
a rx580 gpu
a amd 5600g cpu.
I been using this pc since the first year of covid. it has had some issues in the past with the cpu debugg light going red after cleaning or moving. but it usually got fixed if I plug n unplug some components.
