Question!

Hello! I just want to ask the neurodivergent people some questions about an experience I’ve had recently. I have a friend who is diagnosed with bipolar and adhd but has no official diagnosis with autism but she still very much claims that that’s what she has. Recently we were in a very frustrating situation where we were hanging out at a bar and then two guys started talking to us and as we started to talk about politics things got heated and voices were raised. This friend initially engaged the two men and once the conversation started going she told me that I needed to stop speaking to them or she would leave. I was arguing with these men and she did not continue to say anything at all the whole time I was arguing and screaming with them. They eventually got kicked out and I was trying to explain myself to her but she seemed to have a panic attack. The bar closed at 1 am and we went outside. She stopped in the middle of the road and started hyperventilating which only stopped when I told her that a cop car was approaching. We sat in a different place and I was the only one trying to find solutions to how we both would be able to get home and she kept repeating that she didn’t know what she wanted to do. She didn’t want to take a bus or an uber or come home with me. We sat in the same place for 1 hour and more until I started getting frustrated and crying from the frustration and demanding that she open her phone and order and uber for herself. I had to beg her multiple times about what we should do or what she would like to do and she just kept saying I don’t know. Towards the end my frustration became so bad that I started telling her that she was an adult who needed to make a decision and forced her to order and uber for herself home. She kept telling me that she was experiencing autistic shutdown and it could last hours if not days and she just felt frozen and couldn’t do anytime for the hour we were there. I want to know if this what she has experienced is a common occurrence and I just don’t understand it or is it something else.

Thank you and any insighf would be appreciated sorry for odd choice of words or grammatical error I’m worrying this fresh and I think I’m still very frustrated and would like some input.
