The silver moon emperor [political fantasy, 1,540 words]

Critique My Story Excerpt

I was just wondering if this appeals to anyone enough that they may want to beta read! My novel is 123k words long. First five chapters included + a blurb below.

After escaping an abusive mother with the help of an imperial prince, Xianya believes she has finally secured her freedom. But the prince’s palace proves to be another kind of cage- and when becoming empress still leaves a man above her, she begins considering the only position that doesn’t.
This is a character-driven political fantasy featuring a morally gray heroine, complicated sister relationships, court intrigue, reproductive horror, and a slow-burn sapphic relationship.

I’m primarily looking for big-picture feedback on:
• Pacing and any places where your attention drags.
• Clarity of the court politics and theology.
• Xianya’s emotional and moral progression.
• The development of her relationships with Chengze and Lan
• Whether the climax and ending feel earned
