Confronting Life's Difficulties with ADHD
I'm here seeking advice after multiple failures which have left my morale in a pretty wounded state. I want to ask for those who have overcome life's difficulties and found some level of happiness and stability, how did you manage this?
Ive lost multiple career opportunities due to my tendency to shy away and turn to conflict avoidance. Bailing out has been a repetitive behaviour for me, whether it be fear of the social hierarchy of a workplace or fitting into social groups. I know there are aspects of this that is ADHD, but also learnt behaviours from high school and college times.
But I could do that then, now out in the real world, I am facing consequences of my actions. I somehow got through a pretty challenging degree, but I could never make it a career, as the responsibility and sociability required felt beyond what I am capable of. So I turned to low paid jobs which I won't say are beneath me, but I know that I am under selling myself.
How did you guys and girls who managed to achieve your goals you wanted and be the person you wanted to be despite the challenges of ADHD?
