OMSAS ABS: Thesis research experience - Volunteer or Research Section?

Hey everyone,

I have a question on the ABS:

Context: I did a thesis in 4th year, spent basically all day in the lab, and eventually got a pub for it later (3rd author rip)

- In the past, I put the work (hours, role, etc) I did for my thesis under the volunteer section - and then the pub I received for the work in the research section, so 2 separate entries.

- recently, I heard that the thesis work isn’t volunteer research and so shouldn’t be listed under the volunteer section? It should be in the research section under the pub that I have there (so one entry rather than 2)

Does anyone know what I’m actually supposed to do?
