I can't stand it when people use "honesty" or "being real"as an excuse to be emotionally abusive, sassy, or disrespectful!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with never sugarcoating and being honest... Especially in cases where someone has done something morally wrong, or when a boundary is being crossed.

But there's everything wrong with BRAGGING about it. There is everything wrong with being emotionally abusive and disrespectful.

You can be honest without being emotionally abusive or getting your ego involved. you can give somebody the honest truth without sugarcoating, and be respectful and civil about it. You can deliver The honest truth, that's not so easy to hear... and not be abusive, sassy, or disrespectful about it.

You can also be a real one without constantly bragging about it, and glorifying it, and advertising to everyone how "real" you are.

When someone has to constantly emphasize about how they "don't sugarcoat anything"... that to me sounds like they're just to look "cool" by bragging about being disrespectful and rude to people.. and they're masking it with "being honest"... to deflect any accountability for their disrespect and abuse.

Also... if you yourself are sensitive to criticism... and if you get butt hurt when people are honest with you, and don't sugarcoat for you... and you yourself get butt hurt, deny it, gaslight that person, throw a childlike temper tantrum, etc...

If you yourself act like that, when you receive criticism/honesty… I don't think you've really earned your right to brag about how much of a "real one" you are.

It's one thing to be able to be honest with other people, and not sugarcoat for others... it's another thing entirely to be able to take it, except criticism and honesty and not get butt hurt yourself.

Until you're able to do both, you don't get to brag about "being a real one"...

If you wanna brag about being a "real one"... you gotta be able to do both.

These are the types of people that get treated as the golden child by their parents... their parents let them get away with bullying other kids in elementary school... and the principal tells their parents what their kid did... and then when they go home... their parents tell them "You're so much tougher than that kid... you were just telling him like it was... you weren't being mean you were just being truthful"..:

Or they see quotes on social media... or they consume content of their favorite influencers that they idolize... or they listen the lyrics from their favorite artist... They see a quote, video, hear a song, whatever... and somewhere in it, there's a line that glorifies "honesty" in a surface level sense... and it gets to their head... and it gives them the false impression that they can go around being rude and disrespectful to people.

99.99% of the time… People like that are not being "honest"... They're being provocative, disrespectful, sassy, and abusive... and they're searching for /seeking out people Who happen to be in an emotionally vulnerable state... and they pick a fight, and they make an abusive/provocative comment that wasn't asked for or needed..... and they use "honesty" as the cover up.
