New HA Green and the Dreaded "A start job is running for Wait Until Kernel Time Synchronized"

I added a CR32 battery, I tried resetting with a micro SD card and the HA image from the website, I have been through every single recommendation I can find and each time the HA green will be stuck on the start job running basically forever.

I let it go about 2 hours earlier today and literally nothing happened. I simply cannot believe you can't flash an actual working system on this.

I do have to say this is one of the worst pieces of hardware I have ever bought. Nothing worked from the moment I plugged it in. Those reading this thinking about buying one - you may want to think again.

Does anyone else have any recommendations before I just throw it out?
