Excision is unplayable right now

I've been doing the campaign on my hunter recently and over the last 3 days I've tried to complete excision about a dozen times - either the game crashes because a wyvern bugs out and explodes constantly or it gets stuck at 1/2 progress and hard locks the entire thing - this is incredibly frustrating even as an experienced player and there are a lot of new lights in there for god knows how long
