5' 9" 175 pound male. I run 20-25 miles per week. I'm typically a size 11, but in some shoes I'm a 10.5. especially trail shoes or any shoe that tends to run wide. These shoes were weird in that spot. 11 felt slightly too large while the 10.5 was a little more snug than I prefer. I had too much heel slip in the 11 so I chose to take a run in the 10.5. I think my feet would be happier in the 11 if I could get a better lockdown.

Pros:

\-The shoe has pretty good energy return, especially for having a more aggressive tread than a road shoe. The tread really wasn't noticeable on the pavement though so I think it fits the road to trail category well.

\-The cushion is nice. It feels soft enough to absorb the impact but firm enough to have good stability. I have stability issues and didn't have any issues on the first run.

Cons:

\-The heel lockdown. Like I said before, the 11 had too much heel slip for my liking. The 10.5 still had some but it was minimal so I could deal with it. Maybe it would get better as the shoe broke in.

\-They seem to run hot. My feet felt hotter than usual. Maybe it was because I sized down so it being snug could have prevented my feet from breathing as well.

\-This is completely a personal opinion, but I hate the blue on the shoe. I think it should have been orange to match the sole. The blue just seems out of place but maybe I will be alone on that one.

All in all I think it's going to be a good shoe. I do a fair amount of running on gravel trails and I think it will be perfect for that. I hope that I don't regret sizing down a half size. I'll just have to see how it feels after a long run in them. If not, I hope Asics has a forgiving return policy.
