Dentists, Be Honest...
How aggravated are you by patients who are afraid of dental work?
I'm one of those patients. I've had a dentist get impatient with me because I couldn't control my reaction to an injection (my reaction was moaning in pain). I had a dentist refuse to treat me because I had an anxiety attack in the chair. (The next dentist looked in my mouth and said "a crown? You don't need one." Hundreds wasted on a crown that was never used.) I had an endodontist get impatient with me when the local didn't take. I sobbed in the chair during gum surgery because I felt it all.
So, suffice it to say I tend to disbelieve dentists who market themselves as capable of treating anxious patients. But I would like to hear from y'all. Are you disdainful of scaredy cats like me?
