is it normal for symptoms to get better during the day when you’re not at home, and then return as soon as you get home?

to be clear, i’m not even sure that i have CIRS. it’s just one option i’m exploring to explain the symptoms i’ve been getting.

anyways, my symptoms are always the worst when im at home in the mornings and
nights. when im out during the day, they’re not entirely absent, but they’re mild enough for them to be manageable and almost forgotten. it’s only when i get home and smell the musty mold smell coming from the basement and walls that things get bad again.

i live in an extremely water damaged building, with a moldy basement (the smell rises up through the ventilation), no gutters on the house, holes in the roof, etc. there also aren’t any baseboards in my apartment. its so damaged that at night i can see the glow from the basement light coming through the cracks where the wall meets the floor. the apartment i lived in before this was similarly water damaged. for a year in between apartments, i moved back with my parents for a year. my symptoms were way better then. one of my symptoms is dermatographia (skin writing) along with hives, which i’ve only gotten in this apartment and my last water damaged apartment.

the fatigue and brain fog i’ve always chalked up to depression (i’m diagnosed). but as the apartment i’m living in gets moldier, my thoughts get more and more jumbled. some mornings when i wake up im entirely disoriented. i know that im having thoughts, but i can’t understand what im thinking or how it makes me feel.

from what ive seen on the sub so far (again, im new) it seems that this may not line up with other people’s experiences? what i mean is, of course leaving a water damaged house helps remove the threat, but either way, people with CIRS have disorganized immune symptoms and wouldn’t immediately feel relief upon leaving the house (from what i gather).

does anyone else who knows they have CIRS experience symptoms that are much worse when they’re actually in their house? do you ever feel like they almost completely go away when you’re out and about during the day? is this all just my depression? (i know you can’t answer that last part, that’s just me thinking out loud lol).

appreciate any thoughts/personal experiences of your own.
