Honestly in the original Spider-Man trilogy Peter is objectively the problem in the relationship, not Mary Jane

Recently it’s become a trend for people to say the landlord’s daughter would be better for Peter because Mary Jane brings drama.

Excuse me? Mary Jane doesn’t bring drama, Peter does. So let’s review. They aren’t together in the 1st movie. But, she actually asks Peter out and HE friendzones HER! Then, in the 2nd movie he’s regretting that decision and is trying his best to woo her over, but fumbling it because he can never show up on time, then when she moves on and decides to mary someone else, he begs her to date him instead. But at the end of the movie she decides not to marry the other guy and to be with Peter instead. Then, in the 3rd movie, HE CHEATS ON HER! And he acts like it isn’t even a big deal, and this is before the symbiote turns him into the biggest douchebag of all time. Then after Peter consistently acts more and more like a douchebag taking the same girl he cheated on her with before out on a date (while still together with Mary Jane) to the club where Mary Jane works and then kissing her A 2ND FUCKING TIME, very intentionally in front of Mary Jane. After this Mary Jane rightfully breaks up with Peter and gets with Harry, and in spite of no longer having any obligation to Peter, she feels guilty kissing Harry. And eventually once Peter gets rid of the Symbiote and goes back to normal, she comes back to him. Mary Jane did nothing wrong to Peter the entire trilogy and if he’d gotten with the landlord’s daughter things wouldn’t be any better because PETER WAS THE PROBLEM, the whole time, NOT MARY JANE!
