“Being a __ grader in 2026” “being a __ grader in X year” TikTok trend

This new trend on TikTok makes me feel so old and I’m only 21… I keep seeing these videos like “being an 8th grader in 2026” then the next slide says “being a 4th grader in 2023-2024”? I’m confused because to me 2023 isn’t even that long ago to be that nostalgic about, I was a senior in high school that year and it doesn’t seem that long ago. And the comments are usually shocked about it too but they are also a lot younger than me saying “you’re a baby omg I was a 7th grader” ??? Y’all are both babies to me lol (no offense to (14-16 year olds). But they always think we are “making fun of their age” but we aren’t, we are just shocked about it because it means we are getting old. I was gonna say wait until 4th grade is a whole decade ago to be nostalgic about it… not saying you can’t be nostalgic for 3 years ago but wait until you’re older and enjoy your young teens, you guys are only 12 or 13 !!!!
