Unrealistic situations!
Owen adopting Leo. I think it is extremely unrealistic with everything down to Leo's biological birth mum (a minor also) who is actively addicted to substances and previously homeless, that the system would allow her to be living with her child.
– As well as the fact that Amelia and Owen are not married, so could the question that it's an unstable family dynamic could he proposed.
– ASWELL as the fact that Owen is a full-time worker and not just any worker but a full-time ER trauma surgeon, meaning up and down crazy hours and long shifts. And I know this for a fact, by the way, that social services would realistically not give, not just a child, but a BABY to someone who can not always provide a steady and reliable environment.
– Most children who are being placed in foster care will be tried to be put with family members if possible, not a random single man.
– Back to Betty, the whole thing where she just surrenders her parental rights to Owen, so he then becomes Leo's adoptive father. Not how it worke. At all. That's like a really, really long process to go through.
I know it's a show, but it's just super unrealistic, and it bothers me😂
A few other fews:
– When they text each other, there's no further messages on the contact. Its like they've only just added each other. Like usually on messages, there are previous messages, but on the show its like just a blank screen with their name at the top. And the video calls. Where their faces take up the whole screen like a picture in a frame. It gets me every time😂
– Not really unrealistic but just annoying, and ALL movies and TV shows do this, but the coffee cups that obviously have NO coffee in them. Like you can hear, they're empty when they set them down or when they're waving them around or pretending to drink for them. It actually enrages me. But I've seen somewhere that they can't put liquid in them for a reason because they don't want the liquid to be picked up on the audio or something.
– All the distaters that happen to that one hospital. I mean, I know that's the point, to keep it interesting, but it is still unrealistic. Before it was Grey Sloan, it was Seatle Grace Mercy DEATH. Low-key still it lol.
– Surgeons transporting patients, doing CT and scans, and doing things like stitches. Saw this somewhere else, and it's so true, why are these big surgeons (attendings) doing minor stitches? I'm not sure if in real life that is the protocol, but I can see neurosurgeons helping down in the ER in between consults and surgeries.
I mean, there is definitely more, but these are the ones I could think of!
