Savable Subaru?

Hey, idiot here. My friend's 2015 Subaru Crosstrek xv limited with 180k miles just blew its headgasket. They dint thjnk kts worth the repair and are gonna get a new car while getting rid of the Subaru. The repair cost is estimated at $3,400, i know it will be more. But even still, i feel like i can get it repaired and it will be good for a while right? Its current owners have been the cars only owner, they had a transmission repair done at 100k and earlier this year they spent $3,100 on a CV axle joint on one side and new breaks.
