Circumstances to break No Contact

I’m two weeks into NC with my ex. I’ve gone on a date with another woman but mostly just trying to heal and work on myself. She is Colombian and her city was hit hard by the recent earth quakes. I want to ask her about her family, but is this the illusion of action or is it justifiable?
