How do i learn to love?
I'm rather young but I don't think I've ever truly loved anyone or anything in my life before, but i desperately want to.
I wasn't scared when my mother was so ill we didn't know if she would make it, i never missed my father when he went on Worktrips, I never looked ahead into my life and felt particularly excited about having my little brother in it, I didn't feel anything when my ex girlfriend and i broke up, I don't feel sad about moving to a different country and leaving my close friends behind. I don't remember to call to text to do anything. I'm not sad if they miss my birthdays and i find it frustrating to be expected to remember other people's. I have never mourned anything except for the life I could've had. Unlike my little brother never cried because I was scared the first day of kindergarten that my parents wouldn't be with me, i was never homesick at a sleepover so I called my mom to pick me up. There are things I'm good at but I've never felt very passionate, not am i someone who gets sentimental over objects.
Sometimes I feel like a gear that should be working in me froze into ice, i feel inhuman. Other people can sense something off about me as well, even when they know they are dear to me in my own way. I'm not mean or anything (at least on purpose), i just feel I'm missing something fundamental. My life lack color. I'm so SO privileged yet I can't even enjoy it properly.
But I want to wake up and look forward to seeing someone special to me, get excited for something I'm working on, have a partner and worry when they get home late, search endlessly for the perfect gift for someone and actually care. I want to feel warm but I don't know how, all I hope is it's something one can learn.
