NXL World cup rankings

Hey all! Looking for some insight on something i came across today. Me and my team are ranked d5 currently. Started the year with 37 points and through d5 play we have accumulated around 170 points each. We are planning to go play at NXL world cup in the d5 division seeing thats what we play now but we hit a snag. When we tried registering on pbleagues for world cup it automatically made us d4. Im assuming because next season we will be ranked up. I thought you held your rank until the end of the year. Specifically the last day of NXL world cup as per their statement. Is this a re-rank issue they will have to do for us? Any one with knowledge and info on this would he much appreciated!
