I rewatched catch me if you can and it doesn't hold up at all

Discussion

I watched it years ago, several times. Thought it was great. Then I learned Abigail lied about pretty much all of it, if not the entire thing. Made it all up. I knew that there would have been embellishments to make it a Hollywood movie, but I believed that there was a young man who was forging checks, getting away with it, became an airline pilot, passed the bar exam, and worked as a doctor in a hospital. Maybe I was the dumb one for believing this, but to be fair, it was sold as a true story. Watching it as fiction makes it a pretty stupid movie. It's a movie for 13 year olds. How did we believe this? Shouldn't Spielberg have looked into this a little more?
