M5 Air configuration

Main question: M5 air 8-core GPU vs 10-core GPU

Hey! My wife and I are buying a MacBook Air for her.

My device: 16” M1 Pro, base (upgrading next year)

Her device: some Lenovo laptop that sounds like a jet when she opens Lightroom.

Use: mostly photo editing and some video editing (most larger projects will be done on my machine)

Hey! Thank you guys for your input. My wife has an education discount so the cost difference is only $90. I’ve heard that in this chasis it doesn’t matter because the chip is thermal throttled sooner than the chip could ever reach max performance.

Another option would also be to upgrade to 24gb of ram. I really don’t want to spend an extra $200 right now but if it’s a no brainer to upgrade then maybe I’ll just do that.
