Gmail doesn't require everyone to use their personal number for every account. Sometimes a number is requested when you're trying to access Gmail account, and that's where the practical problem starts.

Maybe you simply don't want to use your personal SIM for another Gmail account. Maybe you don't want your personal contact information involved in the process. Whatever the reason, there is a simple way to get through the phone number step without using your own number.

The process is straightforward:

1. Go to [sms-man.com](https://sms-man.com) and create an account
2. Top up your balance — multiple payment methods available
3. Search for Gmail in the service catalog
4. Pick a country — 180+ available
5. Use the provided number when Google asks for one
6. The SMS arrives — enter the code and continue

You have 20 minutes to receive the SMS. If no code arrives, funds return to your balance automatically

Once you're in, it's worth adding a recovery email in your Google Account settings. That gives you another way to recover access if Google asks you to confirm your account again later.

Google's own documentation explains how phone numbers are used with Google Accounts and how users can manage the phone numbers associated with their accounts:
