Question
Hi everyone!
I’m currently a Train Attendant with Amtrak, and I recently applied for a Passenger Conductor position. If I’m selected, I would be relocating to another state for the job.
I’d really appreciate any advice from current or former Amtrak conductors, especially anyone who moved from Onboard Services into the conductor side. What should I expect from the hiring process, training, and the job itself? Is there anything you recommend I study or prepare for now while my application is under review?
I’m excited about the opportunity to grow within Amtrak and take the next step in my railroad career. Any tips or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
