Anyone else train seriously and have a parent who barely moves?
I’ve done an Ironman. I train 8–10 hours a week. And I can’t get my 65-year-old mom to walk around the block.
She was is nurse, she knows the risks better than I do. Information isn’t the gap. Every time I bring it up it lands as pressure and she does less.
It’s strange being good at the discipline part of my own life and completely useless at transferring any of it to someone I love.
Is this common here? Do you have a parent you wish moved more, and did you find anything that worked, or did you just let it go?
