First of all, I'm not a hater. I'm writing this as a hater of DS2 or anything, I loved the first game and I'm having so much fun playing the second one currently (halfway through rn, I'm on Chapter 7). But one thing I especially loved about the first game was its dialogues, and the absence of them when the game required to just shut up. But when playing the sequel... I don't know, it feels kinda odd.

I think most of my problems are related to Dollman, because after almost 50% of the game that piece of plastic hasn't said anything useful or had any moment relevant to anything related to the main plot. He just keeps saying obvious things when I'm delivering stuff or repeating the same stuff other characters say. He feels like those "self-speak" some Sony AAA characters do, like when Aloy or Nathan Drake talks to himself about where they should go or what's next to do.

Leaving my love letter to Dollman aside and coming back to the writing stuff, I sometimes feel the writing is kinda lazy like, \[***SPOILERS***\] when >!Lou "dies"!< at the beginning of the game and after some minutes of really good cutscenes, where back to square one, with a BB with us (even though she's kinda not there), working for some organization we barely know (Drawbridge) and even Sam throws away his new look and goes back to looking exactly the same as DS1.

I just expected, coming from Kojima, the man who wasn't afraid of doing all he did in MGS2, to be less afraid of changes in this sequel. Because it really feels like nothing happened. Lou and Sam were free at the end of DS1, and the world was kinda repairing slowly.

After all, I'm still talking without finishing the game. Maybe even Dollman becomes likeable at some point... Anyway, thanks for reading allat, I'm really curious to hear other thoughts about this.

(*some unrelated pics from my playthrough because I felt so)*

Is Death Stranding 2's writing kinda bad or am I just going crazy?
