Cats and spiders

So my cat found a spider in my room and almost got him but he ran down the side of my bed (im terrified of spiders even small ones) and it’s made me realise it’s coming up to spider season. So my question is what is the best thing to keep spiders away but also keep my cats safe? I don’t want to use something that would harm my cats!
