KR’s attitude towards medical providers

I’m so fed up with watching KR constantly disrespect medical providers, particularly the young female ones, with his arrogance, exasperated sighs, and condescending remarks, when those women are literally displaying the patience of saints and the compassion of angels.

Is this guy for real? Does he actually understand what the daily work of a mental health professional looks like? Is he aware that nobody ever walks into their office to tell them how wonderful their life is and how fantastic they’re feeling?

He keeps repeating the same point over and over:
“Did you know this woman, WHO JUST HAD A BABY, was feeling depressed/anxious/insomniac/overwhelmed/having intrusive thoughts?”

Am I the only one constantly fantasizing about answering for them: “Duh. Yes. Just like the dozens of other patients on my caseload.”?

How does he think LC was some kind of unprecedented medical anomaly, to the point that everyone should have dropped everything they were doing and converged on her case? Did he ever stop to consider that she was far from being their only patient? Those providers were probably dealing every day with patients in objectively far more acute situations: people in active (demonstrable) psychosis, people who had just attempted suicide, people requiring emergency intervention or facing conjugal violence or homelessness, all while coordinating with other medical professionals and dealing with their obligations as mandated reporters, including CPS.

If you had asked those providers at the time which of their patients was most likely to do something like this, LC probably wouldn’t even have been near the top of their list. The only thing that made her particularly memorable was how relentlessly demanding and insufferably annoying she was toward them.

It honestly seems like KR believes these healthcare workers were simply wasting their time and deliberately refusing to help poor little LC out of sheer laziness. What exactly did he expect them to do? Pull out the magic wand they had apparently been hiding all along and pronounce the magic words that would make her anxiety instantly disappear? Wheel her into the OR for an emergency brain transplant or a depression amputation?

The reality is much less dramatic: they could continue recommending treatment, adjusting medications and dosages, monitoring her, and trying different approaches until they found something that worked. They could not simply manufacture a miraculous cure to make anxiety disappear on command. And yet KR seems genuinely baffled that they didn’t somehow produce one.
