Month long ghosting from avoidant
Hi
Im writing mainly to put my mind to ease even a little bit, but any advices are greatly appreciated.
Ive been dating a girl for a few months. Everything has been generally great, we have really similiar vibe and everything clicked really fast.
But then we had a situation where i wanted to meet up, asking everyday for 5 days straight, and everytime she had excuse to not go. Like she was sick, her parents made her angry etc. Every excuse alone was totally respectable, but at the moment i felt i was being ignored.
So i wrote to her a stupid message, saying that if she doesnt want, we dont have to meet, because i see she doesnt really care for it. I deleted it immediately, but she had to see it in notification or something. Couple hours later i received a breakup text, but i managed to ask her to meet to discuss this in person.
During the meet she told me that message was not as final as i thought, she was just being overwhelmed and she pushes everything away when that happens. She told me she doesnt want to hurt me because ive been treating her well, and she feels like she doesnt deserve this. I presume her past relationships have been toxic, thats why she is like that. We agreed to take some time apart, we agreed on less than 3 weeks.
It now has been a month, i wrote to her 3 times asking to meet. She replied once to the second message, saying she needs more time. And i tried to respect that for another two weeks, but the truth is it has been eating me alive. I cant focus at work, i eat less, i sleep worse. Its not even like a breakup, its the uncertainty that gets me.
She is a very kind soul, so i find it hard to believe she would toy with me like that. Every friend has been telling me its over and i should move on, but that message asking for more time has been on my mind constantly.
What should i do? Move on? Reach out to her again, but maybe softer? Wait for more time as she asked?
