How are we still defending trump? I don’t get it.

Politics/Religion ✝️☪️✡️

It feels like every single week there’s a new headline, a new quote, or another scandal that would have instantly derailed any other political career in modern history. Yet, millions of people just brush it off, make excuses, or double down.

At what point do we stop pretending this is just standard "different political opinions"?

Standard political differences are debating tax rates, foreign policy, or infrastructure spending. Supporting someone who has consistently demonstrated a complete disregard for democratic norms, basic decency, and accountability crosses a line from political disagreement into a fundamental moral disconnect. It’s disgusting watching people twist themselves into knots to justify things they would relentlessly condemn if anyone else did them.

What gets me the most is the total erosion of basic standards. The hypocrisy is unreal. If a candidate on the other side pulled even a fraction of what Trump has done, his supporters would be demanding immediate accountability. But because it’s him, it’s treated like a badge of honor or just "owning the opposition."

It’s exhausting, frustrating, and disheartening to watch. How do you look at everything that has happened and still sit there and say, "Yep, that's my guy"?

Supporting Trump at this point isn't about traditional politics anymore, it requires ignoring an unbelievable amount of toxic behavior and anti-democratic actions, and I don't see how anyone can honestly justify it.
