Is it always better to get student loans?
Hi all, I’m not financially well-educated so am here to seek advice and hopefully a confirmation that I am making a right choice.
I am aware that many people on reddit say that getting the maximum loan is the smartest decision and also it works more like a graduate tax than a typical debt.
But I have also seen some people disagreeing with this idea and their points kind of make sense for my circumstances.
I am only eligible for the minimum maintenance loan (and no tuition loan) which is about 5k a year because this is my second bachelors. Also it is a dentistry degree so if I graduate with about £27k in debt I will most likely to be paying this off fully before it gets wiped out.
However, I am planning to put £4k of these loans into my LISA account for the free £1k a year. I believe this is a sensible choice but wants to ask if it actually is or am I just making an unnecessary debt?
