Visiting Okinawa in September – campervan or car + hotels?

Hello everyone!

I’m planning to visit Okinawa in September, roughly from September 7th to 15th.

My idea is to start in Naha and then make my way around the island, stopping at different places along the way.

I’m considering renting a campervan and travelling around the island that way. Do you think that’s a good idea, or would I be better off renting a regular car and staying in hotels?

I know early to mid-September is still typhoon season (I’ve red a lot of post about it) so I’m also wondering how much of a concern this should be when planning the trip. With the recent weather patterns and typhoon activity - Dolphin typhoon - would you recommend changing the itinerary or approach? (Specially because a campervan would mean mostly living outside haha)

TLDR : would you choose a campervan or a regular rental car + hotels to visit Okinawa’s main island early/mid September ?
