did your friendships change when you transitioned?

General Question

**cross-posting from r/ftm because i am in fact late to the party and wondering if people closer to my age might have more insight

i'm (35 yo ftm) a little over a year into taking T, just had top surgery in April, feeling very happy/blessed/finally myself etc.

i'm sure you've heard this one before: my friend groups/community has been almost exclusively (mostly femme) lesbians/queer cis women. makes sense, of course, #alumni and all that. i feel comfortable around them and love them, and they've all been supportive of my transition....but things have noticeably changed recently, and i'm starting to feel a little crazy because of it?

i've always been a very inclusive person. if i'm invited to something, so are my closest friends. so many of the people i now know have met because of/through me in some way, and i think that's really lovely. i put in effort to make plans with people, communicate regularly, do fun group activities, and for the most part, that's been reciprocated, until recently.

I've noticed i've been getting left out of plans with my closest friend group recently (im unfortunately cursed with pattern recognition). these are people i still consider my closest friends. i've tried really hard not to take it personally, but it has continued to happen, and nothing else has changed other than, well, me, a lot, at least on the outside.

I guess i'm just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences, so i feel less like im losing my mind/being hypersensitive to things? I know it's important for me to find trans community, and trust me, im trying! i just wasn't expecting to experience such a sudden and painful shift in my existing communities, and i feel really lost.

thank you/sorry/hello happy to be here 🖤
