Recap: YEIDA's 91st Board Meeting Approved Trade City, Industrial Node and Medical Research Centre

Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) sanctioned a substantial list of infrastructure and industrial projects in its 91st Board Meeting held on 15th July 2026. Alok Kumar, Chairman of YEIDA and Additional Chief Secretary for Industrial Development, chaired the meeting with Rakesh Kumar Singh being the Board Secretary.

The important sanctioning included an Industrial Node in the vicinity of the Noida International Airport. Manufacturing and logistics-related industries would be drawn towards this area. The YEIDA International Trade City shall emerge as the hub for national and international commerce. The Trade City, which is being constructed in sectors 7, 8, and 8A, has been patterned after the Yiwu International Trade City of China. An evaluation by the renowned consultancy firm of Ernst & Young backs the project. This Trade City would act as an exhibition and wholesale trade center for various products falling under the umbrella of the 'One District One Product' Scheme of the UP Government. These include products such as electronics, garments, furniture, jewelry, auto parts, and many other product categories.

Additionally, in another crucial move, the Board has agreed to provide 30 acres of land to ICMR in Sector 9 to enable the setting up of a research center and thereby boost research in the field of medicine.

The Board has also assessed the developments concerning the bus services that are backed by NTPC and approved the setting up of the solid waste management plant near the Dhanauri Wetlands. It is clearly evident from the financial overview that during the first quarter, there has been a significant increase in the revenues of YEIDA, with the total revenue collection reaching ₹1,371.75 crore as on June 30, 2026, as compared to ₹640.01 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
