Pedestrian access from RAC Arena to Perth Police Station is there a direct path?

So visited the justice department from the CBD near RAC arena last week and took me like 20 mins on foot using King street to get to Northbridge. Wonder anyone knows of a hidden path or more direct route as I need to go again?
