Flat pedals recommendation

I’m so used to using pnws composite pedals (which are awesome) when riding flats while trail riding… but let’s be honest they do tear up riding shoes over time. Does anybody have any other experience with a flat pedal that still has decent to good grip for lighter long distance riding that you may not need all that shin splitting grip?
