"I'm not really a phone person" is just a way of making everyone else do the calling

its always said like its a personality trait. im rubbish at texting, i hate the phone, im just bad at keeping in touch. said with a little shrug like its hay fever

but the friendship still happens doesnt it. you still see them, they still know whats going on with you, they still turn up when theres something on. which means someone did all of it. someone remembered, someone sent the message, someone suggested the date and then moved it when they couldnt do tuesday. its just never them

and youve got no move here either. you cant say anything because theyve pre announced it. they told you at the start they were bad at this so now its a known fact about them rather than a thing theyre doing to you every week. if you go quiet for a month they notice. if they go quiet for a month thats just them

honestly the ones who say it the most are fine at replying when its something they want. tickets, someone owing them money, a plan theyre excited about. suddenly very good at the phone
