My problems with pet libro exist since 2024

When I first bought a PetLibro device, in 2024, I was looking for a resilient device, capable of feeding my 2 cats while on multi-day trips away from home. I needed to know they are fed consistently.

I don't leave the cats alone, I do have petsitters who come once a day to check up on things and give wet food, but if they would not be able to come, I need the peace of mind that no meal would be skipped.

In 2024 I already had problems with it and contacted the support team. The problem was that there was no negative proof, you can't know when the cats didn't get a meal because of a mechanical failure, firmware error, etc.

My device was having some glitch that was silently failing meals:

* It did not appear in the application logs

* I was not notified of any error of meal skipped

* Once it even logged it as a successful meal even though the meal was not given

It happened 3 times already, and PetLibro reply was the same:

* Take your device batteries out

* Reboot the device

I was really pissed off and insisted that this was critical for me, and that we should have some sort of negative proof: If the machine did not report a successful meal, you should be alerted that something **might** be going wrong there.

They promised me to look into the issue and that they would improve it, but it was all hot air.

The device was sold to me under the pretext of being resilient, having 3 D-Batteries that even safe-guard power outages, but if the router goes down, then there are no meals? Does my internet also need a backup generator?

To me, this device, as is, is e-waste and paper weight. I'm really crossing my fingers on someone who is knowledgeable enough, to come and rescue us from this situation.

They are refusing to make the device offline-first, and attacking the main problem, and I suspect it's probably because they are selling our data and making a lot of money from it. I do not think PetLibro will fix the issue.

This device has always been a privacy nightmare, and I should have refunded it from when I discovered some problems already:

TLDR: The hacker could log in as any account, just by email, totally hijack your device data and controls. They paid the guy 500 dollars for finding the issue.

Do not think that PetLibro will improve, this company is doomed.
