Is it just me, or is Stronghold the best event we've had in years?

FEEDBACK :snoo_thoughtful:

Is it just me, or is the Stronghold event the absolute best thing to happen to this game in years?

With over 2,000 hours in the bayou, I feel entitled to make another review on the current state of things. To be honest, ever since the engine update two years ago, I haven't been entirely happy with where Hunt was heading. It took them over a year just to fix the bugs and mistakes from that transition. Plus, personally, the events we’ve had lately felt super generic and completely unfitting for the game's atmosphere. The circus, the Post Malone stuff, the tiny spiders with the shredder and flame gun... it just lost that gritty Hunt identity.

But this Stronghold event? It makes me feel like I’m playing in the good old days again. It is hands down the best event Crytek has ever released.

A few things that stand out to me:

  • The Balance: It actually feels balanced. There are no ridiculously overpowered event weapons ruining every match.
  • The Trenches: The trench system creates such a great, dynamic range of fighting. It feels fresh and changes up how you approach firefights, but it definitely belongs in the 1896 era.

I just wanted to drop a massive thank you to Crytek for finally bringing us some amazing content that actually made me want to boot up Hunt again and genuinely enjoy it.

I really hope the devs see this and keep leaning into this kind of content. What do you guys think of the trenches so far?
