Wanting to upgrade my i7-6700 to something higher as it seems like it's really bringing my PC down. Any recommendations for someone with a 5700 RX?

Pretty much just title.
I'm trying to use my PC to play modded Cyberpunk and now that i've fixed the problem of having a shit GPU for it, now my CPU is getting bottlenecked with how fast this games combat can be.
I was thinking a Core i7-12700?

Additionally I read up that apparently I'm gonna have to upgrade my motherboard too? I really hope not, I just had to rebuild my entire PC because my old case didn't fit my GPU and that took me like 5 hours to do lol
