Can't get off the bus with Alice

Hi, this is my first playthrough and I'm at the beginning of the Fugitives chapter, trying to get off the bus with Alice. The guy tells Kara she has to get off, I can get up with Alice but when it gets to the part where I have to walk off the bus, she won't move. Not sure what to do, please help
