Where to Find Information on Red Carpet Premieres?

Discussion

Hi,

This has probably been asked before, but as a film major who is in their final year of college. I’m looking for ways to build connections. What is the best way to find yourself on a film set and build those connections.

My main focus is on the red carpet premieres in Los Angeles. I know you have to know people on the inside to even get in, but what I care about is actually being there even if it means being one of those crazy fans on the other side of the rope asking for an autograph. How do you even find out about the time, location, and dates of these red carpet premieres. Is there a curated list out there or do I have to read The Hollywood Reporter everyday in hopes I stumble across something.

What I am doing right now is applying to everything I can for internships and such. I’m now realizing that you aren’t really going to find paid internships and to make connections you have to start out with the unpaid ones.

My ultimate end goal is to be recognized as the first Deaf editor and trail behind Marlee Matlin and Troy Kotsur.

Thanks in advance for all the feedback and guidance as I start venturing my way into the workplace of filmmaking.
