2nd pair of EVO SL doesn't feel the same. Did they change the construction?

I used my first pair of EVO sl for a little over 500mi and it was the best ever shoes for me. I put in about 30mi per week and I even did 16mi weekend long run in EVO sl and felt like I could keep going.
The second pair though, it feels very flat. I'm not a fan of stacked shoes and EVO sl felt just right. But this second pair feels very flat front to the heel. It almost feels like I bought used, and a pair that was used for at least 200mi.
I'm old school and I don't trust many 3rd party websites or even offline stores so I only buy from the brand website and both pairs were purchased directly from Adidas.com.
It's been a month now and between my rotation, I tried to feel and test differently but it's definitely more flat and not as responsive. Does anyone have similar experience?
