TTC again after an early miscarriage — how did you cope with the fear?

**TW: miscarriage, pregnancy loss**
I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks and 6 days in May. It hit me very hard, both physically and emotionally.

I’ve dreamed of becoming a mom since my early 20s. When I met my husband, we decided to wait 2–3 years before trying, so we could save some money and build a bit of a foundation for our future. When we finally decided to start TTC, everything felt so special and hopeful. I got pregnant on our first cycle.

After the miscarriage, I had some bloodwork done and found out my ferritin was 12. I decided to take a few months to work on rebuilding my iron stores before trying again. After two months, my ferritin had risen to 39, which I’m really happy about, although I’m still aiming for 50 🤞🏼 before we start trying again.

The hardest part for me has been seeing everyone around me getting pregnant or having their babies. My brain is genuinely happy for them, but my heart struggles.

Yesterday, two of my girlfriends posted photos of her newborn baby in our group chat. We aren’t very close anymore, but we still have a group chat where we share updates a few times a year. Seeing those photos hit me so much harder than I expected. I cried that night and barely slept.

All I want is to become a mom. It’s the biggest dream of my life, and after finally getting pregnant and then losing the pregnancy, I’m scared.
I’m excited that we’ll hopefully start TTC again in about a month, but at the same time, I’m terrified. What if it happens again? How do you allow yourself to feel hopeful after experiencing a loss?
I would really appreciate hearing your experiences.

**How was/is TTC again for you after a miscarriage or pregnancy loss? How did you cope with the fear of another loss?**
Thank you ❤️
